New Patient – First Visit
The first visit in our office may be different than what you have experienced in other dental or dental specialists office. We follow a process that allows us to make sure we understand who we are working with and what the expectations for treatment outcomes will be.
The team and doctors will spend 1-1.5 hours during your first visit to complete the following as part of the new patient examination:
- Receive and review information from your general dentist including notes and images
- Review your dental experiences, history, and expectations
- Review your medical history and how it has effected your current dental health and future treatment
- Obtain photographs to document to your current condition
- Review current radiographs and obtain any that may be necessary
- Obtain 3D imaging when it is relevant to your condition to aid in diagnosis and planning
- Complete a full dental and periodontal examination and oral cancer screening
- Review the findings and diagnosis in detail
- Present treatment options to address your diagnosis or consult with your dental team to formulate a comprehensive plan when more complex issues are present
What to bring to your first visit
You will need the following items:
- Dentist Referral Slip
- Radiographs/X-rays
- Driver’s License
- Dental Insurance Card
- List of Medications/Supplements
